Welcoming Monique Bovino to Fenech
We’re excited to officially welcome Monique Bovino to the cast of Fenech. Monique will step into the role of a reporter in the film, bringing with her an extensive background as a boxing reporter and presenter. With years of experience ringside, she has covered some of Australia’s biggest fight nights and interviewed some of the sport’s most respected names, giving her a perspective and authenticity that few can match.
A Ringside Storyteller
Boxing has always been as much about the story outside the ropes as the battle inside them. Monique has built her career telling those stories. From post-fight interviews dripping with adrenaline to fight-week press conferences where tempers flare, she has been there with microphone in hand, capturing the raw emotions of fighters at their highest and lowest moments.
Her work as a presenter has seen her cover national and international fight cards, host boxing broadcasts, and share in-depth fighter profiles that bring audiences closer to the sport. She understands the language, the atmosphere, and the unique intensity of boxing reporting, which makes her an invaluable addition to a film that aims to capture Jeff Fenech’s extraordinary world with honesty and grit.
Matt Norman, Director:
“Having Monique Bovino join our cast is a real privilege. She has lived and breathed the boxing world for years, and that experience brings a unique layer of authenticity to Fenech. It’s important to me that this film feels as real as the fights themselves, and Monique’s presence helps us achieve exactly that.”
Why She’s Perfect for Fenech
Jeff Fenech’s rise was not only a story lived in the ring but one told by the voices around him—the reporters, commentators, and presenters who carried his fights to the public. By casting Monique, who has lived that world and continues to represent it, we ensure that Fenech feels grounded in reality. Her knowledge of the sport and her deep respect for the athletes who dedicate their lives to it will shine through on screen, bringing a natural authenticity to the role.
We’re proud to have Monique Bovino join the Fenech team. Her real-world boxing experience adds yet another layer of truth to this powerful story, and we can’t wait for audiences to see her bring that same passion and professionalism to the big screen.
Monique Bovino, Reporter:
“I’m beyond excited to be part of this project. Jeff Fenech has always been one of my favourite fighters, and to step into a film that celebrates his journey is an absolute honour. To represent the sport I love on screen, while telling Jeff’s incredible story, is something truly special.”
